Marine Mystique began as an original watercolor — horseshoe crabs, whelks, scallops and mermaid’s purses, the things you find along the tide line on a New England beach, each one painted by hand and then arranged into a repeating pattern. Nothing in it is stock art.
Printed to order in our own shop in Rockland, Massachusetts, on your choice of wall coverings, in the Sand colorway: soft sandy browns and greys on a warm white ground.
Every panel arrives larger than the size you order
Panels come 26″ wide and finish at 24″. That extra 2″ is the overlap you double-cut on the wall for a seamless join.
They also come 4″ taller than the height you choose — 2″ of extra pattern above and 2″ below — so you can trim to your own ceiling and baseboard. Order a 44″ panel and a 48″ panel arrives.
Do not trim any of it off before hanging. You are charged only for the size you ordered — the extra is on us.
How it is sold
Wallpaper is sold as 24″-wide panels. You pick the height that suits your wall and order as many panels as you need to cross it. Each panel is 2 feet wide, so a 10-foot wall takes five.
- 24″ × 12″ sample — $20. A true-scale piece of the pattern on the material you are considering. Tape it to the wall and live with it for a few days before you commit.

A standard 10 ft × 8 ft wall is 80 square feet — five panels of 24″ × 96″. That comes to:

Peel and Stick Permanent — $9.00/sq ft. Self-adhesive permanent vinyl. Semi-repositionable while hanging, then set. No paste required. Canvas texture vinyl finish. No paste required.
DreamScape Matte 20oz — $9.00/sq ft. Heavyweight 20oz wall covering with a flat matte face. Matte finish. Paste.
Criss Cross — $9.50/sq ft. Cross-hatch woven texture that softens large flat areas of color. Matte finish. Paste.
Silk — $9.75/sq ft. Fine silky weave-like texture with a low satin lift under raking light. Satin finish. Paste.

Satera Pearl — $11.50/sq ft. Pearlescent ground that shifts warm and cool as you move past it. Satin finish. Paste.
Platinum 20oz — $13.00/sq ft. Heavyweight 20oz with a subtle metallic shimmer in the ground. Satin finish. Paste.
Prisma — $15.00/sq ft. The premium ground — “unicorn grasscloth”, as our customers call it. The same texture as our grasscloth with a multi-faceted sparkle running through it. The top of the range. Satin finish. Paste.
Before you order
- Measure the wall, not the room. Width of the wall in feet, divided by two, rounded up, is your panel count. Height of the wall decides which panel you buy — go up a size rather than down.
- Order a sample first if you are unsure of the material. Twenty dollars now is cheaper than the wrong finish on a whole wall.
- Hand painted. Every shell and crab in the pattern started as an original watercolor.
- Made to order. Your panels are printed for you when you order, and ship within one to two weeks.
- Returns. Because every panel is printed to order we cannot take it back if you change your mind — but if it arrives damaged, misprinted or not what you ordered, we replace it. Tell us within 14 days.
- Shipping on wallpaper is free anywhere in the United States.
